24-Hour Programming
2022 / Performance

[Overview]
In this performance, I programmed continuously for 24 hours and built websites. The work presents my growing physical exhaustion as part of the piece and reflects a sense of fatigue within the websites themselves.
This was an attempt to turn programming, usually done as labor, into an exhibition work.
Websites Created in 24 Hours
①Worn-Out Alien
A simple website created during the early hours of the performance.
②Men’s Fashion Advertisements
A website that overlays photos of men from viewers’ smartphones with catchphrases from women’s fashion ads. I wanted to see how these phrases would feel when applied to male bodies.
③Two Great Explorers
A website that automatically generates texts treating myself and historical figures as equally great people. This idea was developed late in the performance, as I continued programming until the exhibition closed.
